Htoo Foundation established Htoo
Foundation Free Education Classroom at Putao in Kachin state in 2009 to make available free
education for 211 students within three academic years. There were 34 students attending the school
in 2009-10 academic year in 60 in 2010-11. In 2011-12 academic year 117 students were provided
with free education by 6 teachers dispatched from Yangon. The schools were opened were opened at
Mulasheedi village and Douttan ward in Putao and the text books, special editions and stationery were
provided free by Htoo Foundation.
Construction of Foundation Free
Education Boarding House on 2 acres of land (100,000 square feet) at Douttan ward in Putao to
facilitate peaceful learning for students from far off village. The boarding school includes a
two storey classrooms, separate accommodation for girls and boys, office, library and a
computer room. A mess hall and galley are also incorporated to the building.
The library, complete with furniture, contains books to enrich the knowledge in health, science
and education are kept at the library for students to have ready access to the books of their
choice. Computers with internet access are also installed in computer room.
