The team<br \/>\ncomprises:<br \/>\n1. Andy Tyson (American Team Leader)<\/p>\n<p>2. Molly Loomis Tyson (American Member)<br \/>\n3. Chris Nance (American Member)<br \/>\n4. Mark Fisher (American Member)<br \/>\n5. Eric Daft (American Member)<br \/>\n6. Pyae Phyo (Myanmar Member)<br \/>\n7. Ko Win Ko( Myanmar Member )<br \/>\nHtoo Foundation\u2019s objectives of sponsoring the Mount Gamlang Razi<br \/>\nExpedition are:<br \/>\n1. To protect and preserve the natural environment of Mount Gamlang Razi<br \/>\nregion, the birthplace of Ayeyarwaddy River which is the lifeline of<br \/>\nMyanmar.<br \/>\n2. To contribute to the development of the region historically inhabited by<br \/>\nTibeto-Burmese, an ethnic Myanmar minority. (There is only one Tibeto-<br \/>\nBurman by the name of U Aung Choh in that region who is able to speak the<br \/>\nTibeto-Burman dialect. Htoo Foundation is making arrangements for the<br \/>\npreservation of Tibeto-Burman dialect and culture as well as its<br \/>\ndissemination among Tibeto-Burman in the region with the cooperation of<br \/>\nU Aung Choh and Myanmar linguists at Htoo Foundation\u2019s Free Education<br \/>\nSchool in Putao).<br \/>\n3.To maintain Hkakabo Razi National Park by engaging internationally<br \/>\nrecognized Park Rangers with the collaboration of Gamlang Razi Expedition<br \/>\nmembers.<br \/>\n4. According to the topographical photos generated by the American and<br \/>\nRussian explorers, Mount Gamlang Razi is known to be 90 feet higher than<br \/>\nMount Hkakabo Razi which at present is recognized as South-East Asia\u2019s<br \/>\nhighest mountain. Upon reaching the summit, the Gamlang Razi Expedition<br \/>\nwill measure the actual height of Mount Gamlang Razi using the most<br \/>\nsophisticated GPS devices, and if their measurement proved that the<br \/>\ntopographical photos were correct, a new record for the highest peak in<br \/>\nSouth-East Asia will be established.<br \/>\n5. To utilize the friendship between Myanmar and America gained from<br \/>\nGamlang Razi Expedition as a platform for further strengthening mutual<br \/>\ncooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and culture.<br \/>\nHtoo Foundation donated kyats 50 lakhs to Myanmar Mountaineering<\/p>\n<p>Association in Commemoration of Myanmar American friendship Gamlang<br \/>\nRazi Expedition on the 11th August at Kandawgyi Hotel.
